Cookie Policy
This notice describes browser storage and privacy controls associated with softwaterguidebook.com. Read it with the Privacy Policy. A service’s presence in the site code does not establish that all of its cookies are set for every visitor.
1. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are browser-stored files. Local storage, identifiers and similar technologies can also remember choices or support advertising. A session cookie and a persistent cookie have different lifetimes. Removing browser storage can clear saved privacy choices.
2. Consent preference storage
Google’s consent management platform provides the advertising privacy message and the Privacy and cookie settings button. Its interface states that website choices are stored in the FCCDCF cookie for up to 390 days. Browser settings, deletion, or a later choice can change how long a preference remains available. This is a preference-storage period, not a universal retention period for information already received by providers.
| Service | Purpose | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Google consent preferences | Remember and communicate advertising privacy choices. | Privacy and cookie settings; Do not consent; Manage options. |
| Google advertising | Ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and permitted personalization. | Purposes and provider choices in Google’s advertising privacy interface where applicable. |
| WordPress authentication | Maintain an authorized administrator’s login session. | Applies to signed-in use, not automatically to every anonymous reader. |
3. Advertising technologies
The site includes the Google AdSense tag while advertising approval is pending. Google and participating advertising providers may use cookies and similar technologies when their services operate, subject to applicable choices and requirements. Their identities and purposes are available through the Google advertising privacy interface when shown.
Read Google’s advertising technology information. Review optional advertising personalization and storage choices in Google’s advertising privacy interface. The interface lists purposes and participating providers; its availability and options can depend on your location and the applicable message.
4. Analytics
No Google Analytics measurement tag was identified in the public-page setup reviewed on October 16, 2026. Accordingly, this notice does not list _ga cookies as cookies confirmed on this site. If analytics is introduced, the notice and consent setup must be updated for that actual service.
5. Review, refuse or change choices
Open Privacy and cookie settings at the foot of the page when displayed. Select Do not consent to refuse optional consent or Manage options to review purposes and provider preferences. You can reopen this control after accepting and change or withdraw your choice. Refusing optional choices does not require sending an email.
Choices can apply separately to a browser and device. Withdrawing consent affects future consent-based processing; it does not undo earlier processing. Google ad-personalization choices are also available through My Ad Center. Provider controls supplement rather than replace this site’s settings.
6. Browser controls and lifetimes
Your browser lets you inspect, block or remove cookies and site storage. Blocking storage may affect preferences or signed-in functions and does not necessarily stop every network request. A cookie expiry is different from retention of information already received by a provider. The advertising interface and provider information give service-specific details; this notice does not assert one universal advertising-cookie lifetime.
